Two X's (2017- Present)
The one event the city of Dallas will never be able to escape is the assassination of President Kennedy. Dealey Plaza brings up lots feelings, even in someone who is not a native Texan such as myself. Because this area is a tourist attraction, the city gets people from not only around the US, but around the world who come to see this historic place. I come to Dealey frequently to walk among the people, eavesdrop on their various conspiracy theories, or listen to parents relive their memories of that day to their children. But I always find myself watching the people who want to take photos in the middle of Elm street standing next to or on the X's (marking where the Presidential limo was each time Kennedy was shot), completely ignoring the fact that this street is a major three lane artery out of downtown. Dallas drivers are all too familiar trying to avoid tourists trying to snap a quick photo.
